Hi Guys!
Hope we are all gearing up for the weekend? As for me, its going to be a pretty tame weekend with me all lonesome at home. Ill catch up on house chores and relaxation and if 'paroles' come up,ill be sure to fall in.
Anyway my topic of consideration today is the rat race.Am sure we have all heard about the infamous rat race of life( not rat's in track & field events) but the never ending race we all unconscionably fall into the first day we hoist our school bags on our backs the first day in school. It starts from getting good grades in school,to entering the university at the right time ( nowadays its as young as fifteen) and finding the 'THE' job that puts you ahead of your peers for life. Its exhausting and it seems the TO DO list never ends.
For the Young ladies out there it seems the pressure just gets worse. What kind of cloths do you wear, where do you shop, where do you vacay. Do you have a boyfriend and if you do what does he do for a living? Does he have a car? if he does, what kind of car does he drive? Does he have his own apartment or does he still live with his parents? if he doesn't, where is his apartment located? is it fully furnished? It goes on and on to the most stupid of all ' what kind of fake hair do you have attached to your head?' The most painful of all is that it goes both ways. Men and Women are caught up in it and its no respecter of age.
So for my weekend ' NOT TO DO LIST' i will try my possible best not to fall under that spell of Materialism and say 'Screw y'all'( pardon the language) and just basically have fun with or without all the little gadgets that we all seem to depend on for existence.
Till Later!

Religiousness VS Godliness
Hi guys!
Am proud of the fact that its not been up to a week am back, Yipee! The fact that it's a rainy rainy Friday will also not dampen my mood besides the fact that my tailor has upset me because the dress i am to wear for a friend's wedding tomorrow has not been finished( rolling my eyes).
Well before i go on rambling about my personal drama, there is something that has come to my notice about our dear country,Nigeria. We are a very religious people but how Godly are we? I am a Muslim by birth and i am trying to practice the religion to the best of my ability, even though i know its not as diligent as it should be. At the back of my mind,i have always been of the opinion that our religiousness really is one of our greatest problems. There is a lady in my office that is a practising Muslim. she covers her hair and goes to the mosque every Friday for Jumat prayers. Compared to her i can say i fall into the category of an unserious Muslim. I don't cover my hair, i wear revealing cloths, i party sometimes and am very vain and i do not go to the mosque for Jumat as frequently as i should. This lady in question has invited me countless times for Jumat prayers but i always find excuses not to go,sometimes they are genuine reasons but for the most part its just plain laziness. i noticed that her attitude towards me has become more distant and cold. we have never had any disagreements and our contact in the office is minimal at best, because we work in different departments. I can only come to the conclusion that my not going for Jumat is the reason for her behavior towards me. This is where i get a bit confused. To the best of my knowledge, i am not the worst person on earth. I am friendly and down to earth and i try to be kind to my neighbor. so i wonder what gives her the reason to be judgmental.
Nigerians should begin to place less emphasis on what religion we practice but on the character of each person. Am not saying throw religion out the window but i must agree that it has been the cause of major wars in human civilization. Take for example this Boko Haram wahala. I am not that versed in the Quaran but i am Genuinely horrified that this terrorists are killing innocent people ( both Muslim, christian and a few traditionalists) in the name of Islam. I think when we start placing more emphasis on LOVING your fellow human being then a lot of the crimes committed will be greatly reduced.
Anyway till next time folks! Have a wonderful weekend.
XOXO

Having a Support System
hey Guys!
Its been two months too long that i have updated anything on my blog. I feel so guilty and upset that i allowed events overwhelm me that i totally neglected my duties.
Anyway the life of a single girl always has drama and i have had my share. A short lived relationship was the crux of it all. God i was or i still am totally smitten but sometimes you have to know when to let go. I have come to the conclusion that on no circumstance should you be the one chasing a guy, never! I did and right now am paying the price for it big time. If a guy wants you,he will do the chasing. Secondly you cant make a man love you, he does or he doesn't. Its as simple as that. i was under the impression for the past three months that if i altered my myself,if i was more patient, talked less and generally became a different version of me that i would be more appealing to the guy in question. What a joke! Need i say that it didn't work and now am paying the price. I allowed my libido and heart do the reasoning and now am up shit creek( pardon my french). Its been a very trying couple of days, am always being on the verge of tears but thank God for my rocking support system,my friends. They have been there keeping my chin up and making me laugh through my tears and plied me with anecdotes about their own horrible experiences. In this game of love and war, everyone has their own battle scars and stories. We just hope that its all worth it in the end.
So to all young women out there who are looking for their soul mate. Never change yourself for any man. A man who loves you, will love no matter your inadequacies but will help you become a better version of yourself, will compliment you and will balance out the qualities that you lack.
So till next time.
XOXO

when does it become too much?
hi guys!
its been an age, hasn't it? however am not going to go on and on about why i have been away for so long,am sure You've heard it all. life has just been generally life. with its up and downs. triumphs and disappointments. not much has changed in the life of your girl except the fact that i am now in a relationship.
this is where it becomes a bit tricky. i have been seeing this gentleman for about a month now but i feel like all is not well. i also feel that am a bit rusty on the rules and regulations that are present in any relationship. when do u sleep over at his place without feeling like a slut. when do you say the dreaded L word even though you feel it? how many times are you allowed to call him in a day, without being a pest? Do you wait for him to say the L word before you do? what are his financial responsibilities in the relationship? are you allowed to ask him for stuff? all this questions are running riot in my mind and am wondering when does one do all these without making him run away before you can get him to the altar.
anyway i have decided to go with the flow and take it one day at a time and if it will work out,it will.
ciao

when it rains, it pours!
hi guys!
wow! i can't believe its been over a month i posted anything. This time i can say it was not due to laziness or work but the fact that my life has been one merry go round. its been a jumble of the good, bad and ugly.
lets start with the ugly. i am just recovering from a nasty illness that really reeked havoc with my body and has left me feeling and looking less than myself. after countless injections and pills later, i can safely say am back on the road to recovery even though i feel still get weak for no reason and my sleep is erratic and my appetite is yet to return from its vacation. for one that has never been fleshy to be with it, i now look like an anorexic patient and i feel less than desirable.
the bad is that shortly before my bout with illness, my heart (surprise surprise!) went through another whirl wind romance that lasted all of a month. to cut the long story short: boy meets girl, things didn't work out,boy gone with the wind.
finally the good! i passed my exams! the one that gave me sleepless nights in December that had the power to make my heart freeze with fear has been conquered, the beast has been slain. Am so ecstatic that i am not as dumb as this course made me out to be.
so all in all. the past one month has been interesting to say the least. For now getting my looks back is numero uno on my list and its operation get me back to hotsville.
till next time folks!
xoxo

the first date
hi guys!
its been a minute hasn't it? My life has been mad hectic with my boss assigning more responsibilities all in a bid to develop me career wise. i am very grateful to him for this, because it shows he has more confidence in me than i have in myself. Anyway i welcome the challenge. Apart from work, school has resumed and that does not help matters but in the midst of this gloominess i found a reason to smile. I managed by Gods grace to ace my exams i wrote in December last year for my professional qualifications. I can safely say that career wise, i am moving along, not as fast as i would like, but moving at least.
Now to the more interesting aspect of every young woman, my love life. I managed to squeeze in time to go on a couple of dates. The latest one was quite nice actually. I got the usual butterflies and nervousness because it was a blind date. I did not know if the guy would turn out to be a flop like the other ones and frankly at the same time i was a bit excited. He had a very sexy voice on the phone and sounded posh. I was nervous that the posh voice might be emanating from a walking baboon. Anyway in the looks department, he wasn't bad. he was tall and seemed gentle manly and in my estimation he seemed nice. we had quite a bit of laughs and i had to restrain myself from launching into full scale interrogation mode. he dropped me of at home at a decent time with a hug, no going in for the kill from this one. then......it went down hill.
i know i may have some unrealistic expectations and believe me, am working on that. But i can say that his behavior from then to now, has been Luke warm at best. At first i was a bit worried, then angry, then indifferent. I think i was on my best behavior on the date and i do not know what else a girl is supposed to do. what was all the fuss about, thinking of what to wear and what to say and not to say. what are men looking for exactly? should i have been more coy and mysterious? more funny? flashed a bit more flesh?laughed less?
i think am off dating for a while......will keep you posted. till later folks.

when nothing goes right( by the way its Valentine)
hi guys!
Its me again and am here to go on and on about the life of a young lady in the cosmopolitan City of Las Gidi. in the past two weeks it seems that NOTHING is going right for me. I know that's a depressing thought and you are probably thinking that here she goes again but on a serious note am thinking ' when is a girl going to get a break. One thing i have noticed is as bad as it has gotten, i am yet to shed one single tear ( should i call it maturity or the fact that my tears have dried up).
its valentine around the corner and as i mentioned earlier i wish we could fast forward the event all together. i know its going to be one of those days. at least i know i will have fun at the office, am on the planning committee for the valentine groove and am bound to receive a card at least. Anyway for those looking forward to a wonderful valentine's day, more power to you. am hoping to hear about all the fantabulous gifts my girl friends are going to get and am looking forward to feasting on free cake and chocolates. but a note of warning: please bear in mind that times are hard and there have been a lot of setbacks in this new year. do not expect heaven and earth, its better to expect less than let your expectations not be met and then you deny him sex or break up with him all together and if he is a toaster ' kick him to the curb' so fast, his head spins. please do not buy him boxers and wine and expect an IPAD or BlackBerry Phone, its not just fair! we scream for equality all the time. so happy valentine's day y'all and please practice safe sex!
till later.....
its your girl.
