Seasons Greetings

Hi Guys!

How was Christmas? Mine was an absolute blast. I became a party animal from the 21st of December till the 24th and have been resting ever since. I promise to give you the full gist of my waka dube with pictorial evidence. How was your Holiday? The new year is fast approaching and I cannot wait for what it has in store for us. I hope and pray its better than 2012 because the year hard men but we thank God for his mercies.

Before i go let me mention something i noticed when i went for Rhythm unplugged which is an annual concert held in Lagos during the yuletide season. I noticed heels! Heels at a concert? I do not know why Lagos girls just like to stress themselves. Its mind blowing. Me that i climbed chair to get a better view and dance my ass of. Imagine doing that in heels? To add insult to injury, there were not enough seats to go around and it even affected those in VIP. Laughs for days. Anyway it was fun all the way......

Happy new year in advance my lovelies!

Merry Xmas in advance

Hi Guys!

How is it going? Today is the last official day of work for us at the office. However according to the grapevine we might be required to come in some days during the holidays to do some work that needs to be tidied up for our clients. That's just a drag but what can i do?

Anyway no matter what life throws at me this season,i am determined to have a very good day and holiday no matter what.

So ladies and gents i am using this opportunity to wish you all a very merry xmas.

Deck the halls.......

Hi Guys!

Its Christmas in a couple of days and even though am not a Christian you cannot help but be drawn into the whole hohoho ish! Anywho, after being under a dark cloud of illness and general discontent with the state of affairs not only in my personal life but Nigeria as well and the fact that Lagos State government has REFUSED! to open up my mum's shop at Balogun market at Lagos island. I have decided to trrrrrrry to get into a cheery mood and just go with it. What can i do? It's kuku not in my power to change, so its time to be merry.

I do not have any certain plans..... yet but i do intend on going for one of the numerous concerts happening at this time of the year. Hanging out with friends and generally just trying to have a good time as much as possible and be thankful for the year 2012 and look forward to 2013 ( that's if according to the Mayan calendar the whole world does not implode by tomorrow the 21st).

So gents and ladies! Go forth and be merry tis the season to be jolly. Go for parties and get drunk if you must and have as much sex as possible( just use protection) and generally live life because we truly don't know what next year will bring.

Till later folks....

Love, Life and Laughter.

The demon called Malaria

Hi Guys!

Its been a very sad couple of days for me. There is nothing i hate more than being ill. My entire weekend was ruined and i still feel very week and generally just slow and totally out if it. As fortunate as i am to be blessed with the AA genotype it comes with its own baggage. I am constantly plagued with malaria and this particular bout was really bad. I still feel very weak and my appetite is yet to return. I just could not stay at home for another day,so i decided to come to the office so ill be a bit distracted from how i feel and make sure i do not dwell on  dark troubled thoughts that increase when am not in really good health.

I am hoping its gets better though, this general feeling of sucksdom, and my spirit is lifted. After all its the season to be jolly ( yawn!).

Have a good day folks.

Triple L ( am sure you know what i mean)

TGIF Thinz and Men Wahala

Hey Guys!

Its the weekend and tis the season to be merry! I am so glad the weekend is here. Its been one of those week's that i could not wait for to be over. I was a bit under the weather yesterday. Sore throat, stomach upset and sneezing all over the place. I felt like absolute crap and i even had to close early yesterday for some much needed rest.

Ehen for the Gist of today. I am sure you have heard of hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, well it goes both ways me darlings. HELL! will run for the opposite direction when a guy is scorned and the guy in question has some deep rooted Psychological and emotional problems. Infact, if a guy is scorned he can show the woman in question pepper. Why do I say this? There has been this trend of scorned men that take to diabolical means of getting back at their exes. Have you not heard of acid baths bestowed on young ladies by men they have told  they no do again.

I begin to wonder if this young women did not see some signs that these guys could be sociopaths? For a guy to do such a thing he must have shown some tendencies towards violence or something. May God have mercy on us o. I am of the opinion that no matter how in love with a guy you are, if he shows ANY signs of violence towards you,RUN! as fast you can because it will only get worse. If he threatens you in any way, tell the relevant people( Police, friends and Family members) and be as vigilant as possible and please PRAY because at the end of the day, Its only God that is the true protector. Too many young women are being maimed and killed all in the name of some twisted love these demons in man form say they have for them. If that is the only love that exists, ill pass thank you.

OKAY! Enough of somber talk. Its the weekend! Woohoo! What are your plans? There are soo many events to get to and so little time and even lesser funds to shop and go for this event. Rythm unplugged is around the corner, So is the Koko Concert and none of my buddies have mentioned wanting to go for any....sign! Anyway we must to groove utunu.

Till later folks!

Laughter and Loads of love and kisses!

The week should end already!

Hi guys!

Its Wednesay and my hopes have been rekindled. The week is finally but slowly coming to an end. This also means the year is also coming to an end. Have you all started thinking of new year resolutions? I have not, because they usually don't last more than the first quarter. What i am concerned about is actually getting into the new year in one piece with as little debt as possible. THEN! I can begin to plan for the new year and begin to plan my goals and objectives.

Well not much happened today except that i wanted to literally strangle my younger brother at home before i left for work. He is soooooooo annoying but what can i do, his my brother.

I hope i can watch a movie later today after work but i just got informed that i will have to go for a meeting at 2pm on the island,so i hope to be back on time to meet  movie time.

That's all for today folks

Love and more love

An Accident waiting to Happen

Hi Peeps!

Am so happy right now! My blog has been totally revamped and yesterday ( Gasp!) i had over 60 visitors to my blog. Am sure you are rolling your eyes but to a lowly she she bere blogger like myself that's no small feat. I hope the numbers increase in leaps and bounds but i also know that it also depends on how regular i am with my updates. So Dear God help a sister out.

Enough about me . Its on to my topic of today. Hmm if you see what i saw today you will understand my caption: An Accident waiting to Happen. As i was power walking to the office today i saw something that elicited two reactions: Amusement and Pity. There was this young lady just like myself that was waiting for a bus ( God is still working on my Range Rover). Anyway what caught my interest was not her extremely tight pencil skirt( who am i to judge, i have worn my fair share) it was the high heeled shoes that madam was wearing. Wearing HEELS to hustle for a  Danfo in Lagos, Haba! I looked around me and there were other ladies obviously going to work as well and we were all in different types of flats; slippers, sandals and ballet shoes. Different scenarios of horrible accidents that could befall this young lady ran through my mind and none of them pleasant. We bus hoppers know that more than half of Lagos Bus drivers are clinically insane. They can just decide to move when you have one leg in the bus and if you are not agile enough, you might end up with a ripped shirt or worse a sprained ankle. So imagine trying to achieve this in a tight pencil skirt and heels.

Anyway i could not waste any more time observing the silly girl because a bus parked right in front of me,going my way. I chuckled about the whole thing till i got down from my bus. The things we women do in the name of looking hot sha! Thats that folks, have a wonderful day ahead my lovelies.

Wishing you love and Laughter.

Weekend Gist on a boring monday

Hi Guys,

How was the weekend? Interesting, boring or eventful? Mine was all three and it was a whirlwind because here i am, back at my desk on this wonderful Monday afternoon.

Friday was sooooo much fun! I was out on the town with my friends and danced away all my stress of the week into the wee hours of Saturday. I was also fortunate to meet May D one of the most talented artists on the Nigerian music scene( thats my opionion anyway) and took a picture with him and my friends.

Saturday was a blur because i was still recovering from Friday. A case of slight deafness and mild body aches were my companions but that does not mean Friday will not repeat itself very soon( wink!) i just had too much fun. My wonderfully domesticated sister also sent me pictures of some  healthy meals that she created because she is on a diet and needed my morale support. I will share some of the pictures with you and if you want the recipe, contact me via my email rasaqtobi@yahoo.com and ill get them across to you.

Sunday was a domestic day. I got some laundry done and visited another big sister to catch up on old times and listen to advice on the whims and caprices of men and making sure i do not expect too much from them because it only leads to disappointment. Very good advice that i intend on following henceforth. Oh and another plus of visiting my adopted big sis..... i always get a gift and this time it was a beautiful blouse that i already have plans for.

So that's my weekend in a nutshell.

toodles

The Part to healing and Happiness

Hello Guys!

Its TGIF! (phew!) and it feels great that the weekend is finally here. I do not know about you but i need some much needed relaxation and rest. Its been one of those weeks.

Anyway in the spirit of the weekend i want to touch on a topic that is most close to my heart. Its about the path of forgiveness that leads to healing and true happiness. I am sure that all of us have been hurt deeply by someone that we truly care about. I have and not once and even very recently and it leads sometimes to deep seated resentment that burns deep into your soul and even manifests physically. Its not easy to forgive and its even harder to forget but with time and God, its possible.

In order to be truly happy and to heal fully you need to let go. I know it hurts and you feel this need to hurt this person as bad as the person hurt you but i know we can work on it. Right now i feel the same way but i have decided to let go and move on. Its an uphill task but with determination we all can be truly happy. Happiness comes from within and from God. So lets us first ask God for mercy( who are we to judge) because if you realize that the person is only human and has faults it makes it easier to understand. I am going to try from today to let go of the resentment in my heart and the pain because if i truly want to be happy one day, i have to work on myself. Its going to hurt and you might have to cry but you have to let go of somethings to get to the other side that is filled with happiness and contentment.

Have a Fabulous weekend ahead dolls.

Fabulous Thursday

Hey Girls and Guys!

Its Thursday and that means the weekend is beating down the door. Hurray for the weekend!  Well its fabulous Thursday and that means we need to start getting in the mood for relaxation and Fun. So be cheerful and merry.

I noticed something of recent and i decided to talk about it. Today my topic of discussion is financial smartness especially for women or rather young women like myself who love to look good. Recently i accompanied a friend on a shopping expedition and when we got to the boutique i saw a number of girls shopping to their heart's content. Trust me i love to shop and look good like the next girl. However, i am so scared of debt. Ill rather have money in the bank than a  bulging ward robe of cloths ill get tired of wearing after a while. I really wish i could shop and buy stuff with reckless abandon but i just can't.  I guess its the Ijebu blood that runs in my veins.I want to be trendy and i want to be able to wear cloths for 6 months and not repeat anything but my pocket for now cannot allow it.  When i was in school my friends used to say Tobi you will need to sacrifice but i just could not.

Anyway its the Xmas season and i think i should close my eyes and splurge a bit more on myself afterall i deserve it after working for 12 months BUT a little voice keeps telling me: January is the longest month in the year and the driest when it comes to finances, you need to be prepared.

Anyway what do you guys think? Should i shop now and save later or should i prepare for a dry January?

Let me know.

On a journey of self discovery

Hey Guys!

Its a fabulous Wednesday and it means the working week has been split into two. So hang in there, the weekend is just around the corner.

Anyway my topic of discussion is following your passion. All my life i have heard about how i have such a presence and how i should explore being  in front of the camera. This is something i believe also, because i love to talk and write and basically am curious about life. When i was younger i knew without a doubt that i wanted to study mass communication and i did because i saw myself in front of the camera.

I also had a stint with a drama group when i left secondary school and then when i was in NYSC Camp i also joined the OBS group to further indulge in my passion. Anyway am at a cross roads. The year is about to come to an end and  am wondering if i will begin another year doing what i do not love. At the same time i have to be realistic. I cannot leave a paying job for uncertainty especially when i am not from a rich family that can help finance my needs.

Well i have decided to look for any creative means of doing what i love and at the same time pay my bills for the mean time till when i am financially stable. So please pray for me friends and lets hope for the best.

Have a fab day sweets.

slow tuesday

Hi Guys!

Hows the day treating you? Mine has been pretty slow. Not much work to do and it could be because my Computer at work seems to be having a moment. I Forgot to tell you that i have finally removed the plaster from my finger! I finally painted my fingernails last night and i felt like a girl again.

Well just wanted to drop in. Nothing fantastic happening..... yet but i have hopes for the upcoming yuletide season. I insist on having fun.

Monday, December 3, 2012

Hi Guys,

How was the weekend? Mine was as usual packed with activity. Saturday was get your hair done day and house chores day. I also went for a birthday bash later in the evening and i had the privilege of dancing my socks of and hanging out with my hilarious friends. What my life would be without them i cannot imagine. Especially a male friend of mine that looooooves to give lap dances for free!

Anyway, am sure you all remember that i mentioned that it would be Iya Oyinda's Birthday ( my mum) on Sunday. Well i thank God it came and went without a hitch. She was dully surprised  and it warms my heart to remember how she smiled at me in thanks and the prayers that i received from all and sundry.

All in all it was a good one. The smell of xmas is in the air and the partying bug has beaten me. I need to think of suitable outfits for all the events that i intend on showing up at. lets hope the god of finances smiles at me. I pray we all spend the holidays in good health and laughter.

Have a Wonderful week ahead.

Love and Light.

xoxo
